This one is a multi-phase build near Million Dollar Beach in Lake George, and right now we're in the phase that most people never think about - but should. The groundwork. Getting this slab site ready before concrete ever gets poured is where the whole project either sets up for success or creates headaches down the road.
Here's what the site prep phase actually involved: land clearing to open up the footprint, excavating and grading the pad area, and getting compacted gravel base material down and leveled so the slab has something solid to sit on. You can see the trenching work that went into shaping the site - root systems, soil displacement, all of it handled before a drop of concrete shows up. That's not glamorous work, but it's the work that makes everything else possible.
After the concrete goes down and the metal building goes up, we come back for the finish work. Final grading to control how water moves across the site. A small retention pond to manage runoff long-term. And river rock throughout to tie everything into that classic Adirondack aesthetic the area is known for. It's a full drainage solution, not just an afterthought.
That's the part homeowners sometimes overlook when they're planning a build - drainage. Especially on wooded, sloped lots like this one. Without proper planning for where water goes, you end up with erosion, pooling, and damage to structures over time. Doing it right from the start saves a lot of money and frustration later.
We're proud to be a part of this one from start to finish. Site prep, clearing, drainage design, and final grading - it all connects, and we handle it all.
